Come and See
Intro.
1. Christianity is open to investigation, Acts 17:11-12.
a. Jesus invited it, Jno 8:46.
b. Angels encouraged it, Matt 28:5-6.
c. Christians are not afraid of it, Jno 3:21.
d. Be ready to give an answer for your hope, 1 Pet 3:15.
2. Come and see:
a. Where Jesus is staying, Jno 1:38-39.
b. Philip to Nathanael, Jno 1:46.
c. Samaritan woman of Jesus, Jno 4:29-30.
d. The Spirit and the bride say, “Come”, Rev 22:17.
3. Jesus gives the invitation to “come”, Matt 10:28-30.

I. COME AND SEE THE CHRIST, Jno 4:25-26, 29.
A. See His Love for the Lost, Jno 3:16 (15:13); 1 Jno 3:16.
1. He loves sinners, Mk 10:21.
2. He loves His enemies, Lk 23:34 (Rom 5:8).
3. His love compels us to live for Him, 2 Cor 5:14-17.
B. See His Life, cf. Matt 28:6. (Never been a life like His!)
1. Sinless life of lowly service, Heb 4:15; Matt 20:28.
2. Defeated death and lives forever, Rev 1:18; Rom 5:10; Heb 7:25.
II. COME AND SEE THE CROSS, 1 Pet 2:24.
A. Suffering and Shame, Isa 53:1-3, 7-8.
B. Sacrifice for Sin, Isa 53:4-6.
C. Satisfaction and Salvation, Isa 53:10-12; Jno 3:13-15.
1. Satisfaction of God’s justice, Isa 53:10-12; Rom 3:25-26.
2. Salvation from sin, Jno 3:13-15; Rom 6:3-4.
-“There at the cross was the blood applied”!
III. COME AND SEE THE CHURCH, 1 Pet 2:4-5 (Matt 16:18).
A. Delivered: Called Out of Darkness, 1 Pet 2:9-10 (Col 1:13).
-The church is to be holy, 1 Pet 1:15-16 (Eph 5:25-27).
B. Diligent: God’s House if we Hold Fast, Heb 3:6; 6:11-12.
1. Hold fast the pattern of sound words (2 Tim 1:13); 1 Cor 15:2.
2. Hold fast what is good, 1 Ths 5:21.
3. Hold fast the confession of our hope, Heb 4:14; 10:23.
4. Hold fast and repent, Rev 3:3.
5. Hold fast what you have (in Christ), Rev 3:10-11.
Conclusion
1. Christ, the Cross and the Church: The trifecta of triumph! Rev 5:9-10
2. Come to Jesus, He will save you!
