Your Bible question was:

>According to the Bible, is it right for christian to buy stock and mutual fund? <

The Bible establishes the principle of buying and selling as a legitimate form of transaction and commerce (Jno. 4:8; Acts 16:14). Buying stocks and mutual funds is a form of investment where one invests money into a business venture with the expectation that the business will succeed, make a profit, and provide an income to the investor. There is nothing inherently wrong is such (read James 4:13, 15).

The problem of covetousness and the love of money comes when one forgets God and His will in this or any other endeavor (again, note James 4:15; also Lk. 12:13-21; 1 Tim. 6:6-10.). We must remember that all we have comes from the good hand of God and use the material things He blesses us with in full accordance with His will.

I hope this is helpful as you study God's word.

Sincerely,

Joe Price
