I.  GOALS FOR MY SPIRITUAL LIFE:
  A.  To Always Put Christ First In My Life - Phil. 3:7-8; Matt. 6:19-24, 33; 16:26.
  B.  To Be Mature In Christ - Phil. 3:9-10.  -I intend to be mature….
    1.  And bear the fruit of the Spirit - Gal. 5:22-23 (cf. Gal. 2:20).  (To not grieve the Spirit, Eph. 4:30).
    2.  As a worshipper - Jno. 4:23-24; Heb. 10:24-25; 1 Cor. 11:17- 34; 14:15; 16:2; 2 Cor. 9:6-7.
    3.  As a teacher/personal worker - Heb. 5:11-14; 2 Tim. 2:2.
    4.  As a servant of my brethren - Matt. 20:27-28; Phil. 2:3-4.
  C.  To Be Faithful To The End - Phil. 3:11-14 (cf. v. 15).

II.  GOALS FOR THIS CHURCH.
  A.  To Be United In Truth - Eph. 4:1-16.

    1.  Not: Feelings, human wisdom, etc. In truth, peace, heart of Christ (Col. 3:12-15).

      a.  Diligently endeavor to keep it.

      b.  Knit together in love.

    2.  To communicate more.

    3.  To be an asset for the unity of the church, not divisiveness.
  B.  To Remain Pure In Doctrine & Practice - Gal. 1:8-9; 2 Jno. 9-11; Rom. 16:17; 1 Cor. 5:6-7 (cf. examples in Rev. 2-3).

  C.  To Grow By Converting The Lost - Mk. 16:15-16; Acts 5:14; 1 Cor. 3:6.
  D.  To Be Scripturally Organized - Phil. 1:1; Heb. 13:17 (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Tit. 1:5-9); 1 Tim. 3:8-13.

  E.  To Support Gospel Preachers In Other Places - 1 Cor. 9:14.

 

III.  WHAT IT WILL TAKE TO REACH THESE GOALS.

  A.  Sacrifice - Phil. 3:7 (Rom. 12:1).

  B.  Commitment - Phil. 3:13, 15 (Lk. 9:62).  (Faith, devotion)

  C.  Consistency - Phil. 3:14, 16 (Heb. 12:1-2).  (Constancy, endurance)

  D.  Living By The Pattern Of Truth - Phil. 3:16.   Unwavering commitment (Col. 3:17).

  E.  The Grace Of God - cf. 1 Cor. 15:10. (Reliance upon Him - Phil. 4:13).

 

Conclusion

1.  Dreams are goals not yet realized.

2.  2 Tim. 4:7-8 - What will we be able to say at the end of our lives?
