God's Agenda for the Homosexual Agenda
Intro.
1. There is a clear, definable homosexual agenda on the rise on America’s social landscape. It is designed to affirm homosexuality as an acceptable (moral) expression of sexuality and to legally protect homosexuality as a “civil right”. Social pressures being applied to reflect this: civil rights minority classification – marriage, adoption, military participation, education, etc.
2. The evidence that the gay agenda in America is strengthening includes:
a. The attempt to redefine marriage to include same-sex relationships. Legal in 5 states: NH, IA, MA, VT, CT, and DC (civil unions, domestic partnerships, etc.).
b. Education of children to affirm approval/acceptance (forced indoctrination of our children!):
“The Alameda, Calif., public schools are adopting a curriculum that will require first graders to read literature that equates same-sex unions with a family made up of a mother, father and child. Second grade reading list includes “And Tango Makes Three”, “a story book about two male penguins who hatch an egg and raise a chick together in New York’s Central Park Zoo—and first graders will see “Who’s in a Family?” which exposes students to a variety of “different” family structures.” (Ibid.)
c. Legislative action to pass laws to make “sexual orientation” a protected category of civil rights (like race, creed, gender), thus defining and protecting the equal rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) against discrimination.
d. Judicial activism in their “ongoing fight for equality” (www.homosexualagenda.org/index2.html). The specter of “hate speech” is becoming a very real possibility in America.
e. A president who proclaimed June, 2009 to be “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month”, and who has committed our citizenry to “achieving equal justice under law for LGBT Americans” (Presidential Proclamation: LGBT Pride Month, http://tinyurl.com/kqavyk).
“My Administration has partnered with the LGBT community to advance a wide range of initiatives. At the international level, I have joined efforts at the United Nations to decriminalize homosexuality around the world. Here at home, I continue to support measures to bring the full spectrum of equal rights to LGBT Americans. These measures include enhancing hate crimes laws, supporting civil unions and Federal rights for LGBT couples, outlawing discrimination in the workplace, ensuring adoption rights, and ending the existing “Don’t Ask, Don't Tell” policy in a way that strengthens our Armed Forces and our national security.” (Ibid.)
3. Prov 17:15: “He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord.” Isaiah 5:20
4. How shall we respond?
a. Accept the present trend of tolerance?
b. Speak out against homosexuality as a sin?
c. Be silent and say nothing?
5. God’s agenda for the homosexual agenda: Condemnation of sin and Salvation in Christ.
I. GOD CLEARLY CONDEMNS HOMOSEXUALITY AS SIN.
A. God Opposes this Sin in Every Age:
1. During the Patriarchs, Gen 19:5, 12-13, 24.
2. In the Law of Moses, Lev 18:22; 20:13.
3. In the New Testament (Rom 1:18, 24, 26-28; 1 Cor 6:9-10; 2 Pet 2:6-7; Jude 7-8).
B. Why Does God Condemn Homosexuality?
1. It overturns God’s most fundamental design for human relationships—Marriage.
a. Marriage fulfills the complementary relationship between a man and a woman, Gen 2:18-25; Matt 19:4-6; 1 Cor 7:2-5.
b. Marriage (man and woman) pictures the relationship of Christ and His church, Eph 5:22-25, 32.
2. It destroys the family as God designed it (making it “obsolete” and “unnecessary”).
3. Thus, it leads to the destruction of societies, nations and souls.
C. The Bible is Clear in its Condemnation of the Sin of Homosexuality and in its Defense of Heterosexual Marriage, Heb 13:4.
1. If same-sex marriage is moral, then what about polygamy and incest? (Consensual adults)
2. The foundations of the home are being destroyed by the godless that love darkness and hate the light, Psa 11:3; 82:5; Jno 3:19-21.
II. GOD’S AGENDA TOWARD THE HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA IS THE CONDEMNATION OF SIN AND SALVATION IN CHRIST.
A. Condemnation: The Sin of Homosexuality Will Keep one Out of Heaven (send one to hell), Rom 6:23; 1 Cor 6:9-10; Eph 5:5.
B. Salvation: The Gospel of Christ Calls on LGBT to Repent, 1 Cor 6:9-11; Acts 18:8.
1. Sexual conduct is a choice, not an “orientation”, 1 Ths 4:3-5.
2. “Homosexuals need salvation. They don't need healing—homosexuality is not a disease. They don't need therapy—homosexuality is not a psychological condition. 3. We all present ourselves to what we choose to obey; sexual sinners can repent, obey from the heart and be saved, Rom 6:16-18.
4. God’s love is revealed and offered to LGBT at the cross, Jno 3:16; Rom 1:16-17.
III. WHAT CAN THE RIGHTEOUS DO? Psa 11:3
A. Do Not Compromise what the Bible Teaches, Psa 119:104-106.
B. If You Suffer for the Sake of Righteousness, 1 Pet 3:13-17:
1. Remember you are blessed by God, 3:14. Trust in the Lord, Psa 11:1-2.
2. Sanctify Christ as Lord in your heart, 3:15 (not social agendas, human wisdom, etc.)
3. Give Bible answers in defense of your faith, with meekness and reverence, 3:15.
4. Keep a clean conscience and maintain good conduct, 3:16; cf. Rom 12:17-21.
5. Remain devoted to obeying the will of God and willing to suffer for doing good, 3:17 (2:20-23).
Conclusion
1. How shall we respond to the homosexual agenda? With a biblical response!
2. God reigns over the righteous and the wicked, and will dispense His judgments, Psa 11:4-7.
